Abstract

The problem of plastic waste is a very complicated problem faced by this nation, the low level of public awareness in using and managing plastic waste is the main trigger for natural and environmental damage. Nature is a very good playground for children, they can freely explore. If nature is not maintained then the next generation can no longer feel the beauty of nature. Realizing this problem, Rinso campaigned for a 'Let's Start Wise Plastic' campaign in collaboration with Word Clean-up Day (WCD) as a real step to invite the public to increase their awareness of the problem of plastic waste. The study of verbal and visual messages in this study, the author uses Roland Barthes' Semiotic theory which aims to see the coding system and layers of denotative and connotative signs in Rinso's advertising campaign 'Yuk Start Bijak Plastik'.

Abstract

Visual branding can be an attraction for tourists to visit in certain areas. Various forms of visual branding in each city and district have begun to be developed with an effort to increase the interest of both local and international tourists to come. Visual branding can also be a visual design asset that can be used to package tourism products using the right visual design assets. One of the things that supports visual branding in an area is the type of typography or font design. Each city or district should have its own typographic design that characterizes the area. Magelang Regency with a fairly well-known tourist spot, namely the Borobudur temple, is a quite interesting tourist destination. However, until now, the design of visual branding, especially typography which is a characteristic of tourism in the Magelang Regency area, has not been fully facilitated, especially since Borobudur is included in the 5 super priority destinations according to the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy. For this reason, by taking ideas from the facade of the Borobudur temple as an idea in designing typography for Magelang Regency's visual branding assets as an effort to support super priority destination areas. In this design using the design design method with the stages of exploring the source of ideas, experimentation, and formation or embodiment. This design is expected to provide useful visual branding assets for the development of Tourism in Magelang Regency.

Abstract

Designing a studio can be done in many ways, including using blender software. The blender is an application that can be used for interactive images, including picture sharing and even 3D animation. Interior design USES principles such as nirvana, signage, color, drafting, and diagram shapes asa primary basis for understanding interior design. Interior design has become a primary 3D model for its original form. In the modeling technique used on blender software is a solid geometry modeling. These include ways of obtaining or creating data that illustrate objects, purpose models, complexity, proportion and usefulness, and ease the manipulation of models. In the original modelling, the surface is a sphere, cube, uv ball, ico ball, cylinder, cone, etc. 3D modeling requires designing being divided into several stages. For example, which object will be created asa base, how 3D objects are modeled, the lighting of objects and motion animation depends on the sequence of processes performed.

Abstract

Advan is one of the local mobile phones that already has a good brand and can be accepted by the Indonesian market. Various products have been produced by Advan, one of which is the Advan GX which has a number of unique products in terms of camera specifications, ram, battery capacity, and a good capable processor and is claimed to be able to run various applications including games without a hitch. Like other mobile phone brands, Advan has an official Instagram social media account @advanindonesia which communicates various products, including Advan GX. Looking at the @advanindonesia account until August 2021, Advan GX got a good response from the community. This can be seen from the high number of likes and comments on Instagram posts about these products. Where the number of likes and comments on this product has reached over 1,000 likes and comments above 100 in several posts. This number is inversely proportional to other Advan products such as the Advan G5 Elite which only got 451 likes and 83 comments on one of its posts. In addition to the high number of likes and comments, a number of Instagram posts that support the promotion of these products communicate their uniqueness both in terms of cellphone specifications, social media skills, and the ability to run game applications. This study examines Instagram posts containing promotions of Advan GX products on the Instagram social media account @advanindonesia based on content analysis methods that calculate the frequency of occurrence of design elements, including composition, use of letters/typography, and photography. In supporting the research, visual communication design theory is used as a supporting tool. The results of this study show that there is a tendency in the use of symmetrical compositions, the use of various sans seris and bold letters to emphasize the uniqueness of the product, as well as the use of photography that illustrates products that are in accordance with their uniqueness.

Abstract

Books are one of the information media that is still used today because it can be used anytime and anywhere because its use does not require a special way. Jamu is one of the Indonesian culture that is in line with the development of the times. Due to the development of drugs in the medical world, the role of herbal medicine as an herbal drink and medicines began to be forgotten. Therefore the author will design a photo book containing new or unknown information content about herbal medicine. In this study the author uses the MDLC (Multimedia Development Life Cycle) method and the R&D (Research and Development) method. Both of these methods consist of several stages of preparation, namely determining the potential and problem which at this stage the writer will determine the concept and design of the photo book, the next stage is the collection of data which at this stage the author will gather information and photos that will later become content From the contents of the photo book, the next stage is the design of the product at this stage the writer will design a photo book in accordance with the data that has been collected, the final step is to do the effectiveness testing of the photo books on a small and large scale. The distribution of the questionnaire was carried out on generation Z in Batam City, with a quantitative analysis obtained the results of the photo book assessment were feasible (scale of 4.01 of 5) as a medium for disseminating information.

Abstract

Self-Directed Learning (SDL) is a student learning process in which students take responsibility for directing learning goals until these goals are met. The results of the questionnaire held by the researcher stated that there were several problems that students felt in the learning process with the SDL approach, including the absence of a facilitator to help students with learning difficulties; limited library references; a failure to identify the learning styles that stood out according to the student's personality; and the absence of a learning map that provides students with information. The goal of this research is to produce a prototype Android-based user interface experience (UIX) application that can aid student learning, which is classified as acceptable. Design thinking is used in this research to facilitate the development of UIX designs for future designs if necessary, namely empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test. A UIX design test with system usability scale (SUS) metrics yields a score of 88.5, which is a grade A and acceptable for a prototype UIX design. In the test results, five participants completed several tasks and provided feedback for the proposed UIX design application, so that users can maximize their learning potential by using the Seltern Space application.

Abstract

One of the symbols that reflect Indonesian culture is batik. One of the processes of making batik is coloring. The use of traditional dyes is gradually being replaced by chemical dyes. However, chemical dyes can cause some environmental problems. To minimize the impact of environmental pollution, it is possible to reuse natural dyes. Papaya leaves were chosen because they can be used to produce non-food natural dyes by way of processing that is easier and more effective and is available in relatively large quantities. The chlorophyll content in papaya leaves is 13.91 mg/L after spinach leaves, kale leaves, and cassava leaves. Fixation agent is needed in the coloring process in order to suppress the color direction by changing the color intensity according to the type of mordant and variations in its concentration. This study used variations of alum and tunjung with concentrations of (35, 70, and 105) grams. The color quality is proven through the fabric color space test and the color fastness test to dry ironing heat and washing soap. The stages in this study were starting from material preparation, papaya leaf extraction, coloring, fixation, pelorodan, and testing the color space and color fastness. Based on the data obtained, it was concluded that the type and concentration of the optimal fixation agent in papaya leaf extract as a natural dye was the type of fixative agent of tunjung with a concentration of 105 grams.

Abstract

The increasing rate of population growth and urbanization resulted in a shift in the function of agricultural land into residential areas which r has an impact on the occurrence of a food crisis due to population growth that is not balanced with the rate of food production. One of the efforts to grow food self-sufficiency in urban areas, especially on narrow land, is to practice urban agriculture. This study aims to determine the priority for the development of products that support the productivity of urban farming practices with the case study in the city of Yogyakarta. Data was collected through a survey with a sample of 25 households in RW 3 Tompeyan, Tegalrejo District, Yogyakarta City, who practice urban farming. Data were analyzed quantitatively distributively to find a trend of significance. The results of the study show that products that support plant watering, development of planting containers, and products that facilitate the application of waste in urban agriculture are top priorities that designers and manufacturers of agricultural equipment must develop to support urban farming practices in the City of Yogyakarta, as well as in other regions in Indonesia. with similar characteristics.

Abstract

The Education Laboratory has the main function as a provider of practicum facilities. Leather Products Workshop is included in the Education laboratory which provides student lecture practicum services. The practical work produced by students are bags, wallets, card wallets and ID card holders. The activity of making works involves processing materials using the equipment that has been provided. These activities also produce practicum waste that is not used. Handling of practical waste needs to be considered properly so that it does not contribute much to environmental pollution. The practicum waste generated by Leather Products Workshop is pieces of leather left over for making student practicum works. That waste were used in this study. The goal of this study is produce women belt. Belts have good visualization ini presenting waste utilization works. That products then described using a design approach with a qualitative descriptive method. The materials used are leather waste, synthetic glue and nylon thread. The equipment used are a hook, silver ink, scissors, round “plong”, “pandokan”, wooden hammer and sewing machine. The results of this work are craft products in women's belt with a combination of aesthetically knitting techniques. This study concludes that practical waste can be processed into craft works that have aesthetic value.

Abstract

The mosque is a gathering center for Muslims in worship activities. However, the truth is that the mosque is not only a place of worship but also a center for development, including economic development. With the development of digital technology, Muslims must be able to adapt. One way is to optimize the mosque as a center for economic development. At present the economic potential that exists in the congregation and also the environment around the mosque cannot be utilized well. Prospering the mosque can also be interpreted as economically prosperous for the congregation and the networks around it. Through media design in the form of application-basedmobile, this potential can be optimized. The design method used in this research isdesign thinking. The research begins with exploring the problems and needs of users with the output being the design of application mediamobile to answer the needs of these users. The purpose of the designed media is to develop entrepreneurship from mosque social networks. So that the mosque becomes the center of economic development from the social networks around it. From the results of the analysis of the data obtained, it is known that users will choose to shop through mosque social networks if there is adequate information about this. So far, there has been no link between demand and supply among fellow mosque congregations, so there has been no economic interaction in it. Respondents also said they were interested in becoming entrepreneurs but had limited knowledge, expertise and resources. The designed application is tested on users and measured using the method System Usability Scale (SUS). The results of trials conducted on users show that the application gets a value of 71.75 or is included in the good category
